Linwoods Magic Touch -- (Broadwall Tempo x Hylees Lady Justanna)
Magic was a dark chestnut mare with flaxen mane & tail foaled in 1972. We purchased Magic when she was 20 years old for our daughter to ride. Little did we know she would spend 12 years with us and produce 3 foals for us. We purchased her from Troika Farms and she was in foal to Troika’s Anatole and the result was a nice big chestnut colt, Kells Country Magic, but we just called him Patrick. We bred Magic then to our senior stallion, Spring Hills K C L, and the result was the filly, Kells Magic In The Heir - “Sophie”. We retained Sophie and she has been a great producer for us. Magic was bred one more time to KC and though we doubted she was bred, Magic surprised us with a black colt when she was 24 years old. Kells Shadow Magic was to be her last foal. Magic brought some old bloodlines close up to our breeding program lines to Parade, Stanfield, Norma, Squire Burger, Congo. Magic always enjoyed her own company best so she became our lawn ornament and could be seen wandering our lawn visiting with the stallions occasionally. Our children rode Magic until her arthritis made it painful to do that any longer. During the summer of her 32nd year, Magic was suffering from arthritic knees and we weren’t able to keep weight on her any longer. Her eye sight was failing and her general health was deteriorating. I didn’t think she would survive another cold Minnesota winter. It was a hard decision, but Magic was laid to rest in the Fall of 2004. Rest well “big Mag”……
