Shonda is basically our foundation mare and the matriarch of our herd. She is retired now after having produced 12 wonderful foals for us. Her new vocation is as babysitter and teaching others their place in the herd. I am fortunate to have 3 daughters to carry on her bloodlines. We purchased Shonda when she was six; besides raising foals for us, she was my trail horse, and our children’s horse for trail riding and horse shows. Probably her best known offspring is Kells In Kirby’s Honor owned by Suzanne and Jim Avery of Kansas Bluestem Morgans, where he stands at stud. You can find him under his own gone to new homes page.
